Job Title: Video Editor

Summary:

This is an ad hoc role.

We’re looking for a skilled video editor to join our team. The ideal candidate has extensive technical expertise and can work both independently and in a team environment to edit short and long form video to client specifications in a variety of industries. A proven professional track record of proficiency in Premiere Pro and After Affects is essential.

The candidate must bring strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and levels.

Objectives of this role:

  • Set a high bar for excellence in video production deliverables

  • Ensure maintenance of consistency in branding and quality

  • Enhance social media and overall marketing strategies

  • Identify and implement improvements in the video editing process 

  • Produce content for diverse audiences and platforms

  • Keep up to date with the latest video marketing trends

  • Interact with professional decorum

Skills and qualifications

  • Mastery of Premiere Pro and After Affects

  • Excellent communication skills and decorum at all levels

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to cull the best video clips and craft a compelling story from the content provided by the production team

  • High level knowledge of editing principles

  • Basic motion graphics skills (e.g. title cards, splash screen)

  • Must have a proven track record of ability in balancing audio and sound design, correcting color and lighting, incorporating music, and running captions on video.

  • Skilled at editing for different platforms (social media, web, broadcast, and more)

  • Ability to adjust and correct for background noise, lighting, and other issues that arise when shooting short-form content in less than ideal situations (e.g. in a dimly lit restaurant, on a noisy street)

  • Understanding of video encoding formats

  • Experience with high-resolution file transfer applications

  • Excellent file organization skills

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in digital media, multimedia design, video production or similar field

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in video editing at an ad or marketing agency or in-house at a company

  • Excellent short- and long-form videos to client specifications in a variety of fields using Adobe Premiere Pro

  • Ensure videos meet the marketing team’s specifications and guidelines

  • Implement notes and feedback from stakeholders

Preferred qualifications

  • Bilingual Spanish speaking a plus

  • Strong project management skills

  • Knowledge of Adobe Audition is a plus

  • Motion Graphics skills are a plus

  • Videography and audio production skills are a plus

Pay Range: $30/hr-40/hr commensurate with experience.
